We’re the English E2 class of 9ac with our teacher Mrs. Tie (Frau Tiefenthaler).
Our last topic was Australia, and we still had some time left till the end of semester, so Mrs. Tie gave us the opportunity to try out and create art – Aboriginal Art (the art of Australia’s indigenous peoples). The most-known art style (in Aboriginal art) is the dot painting. This style uses dots to create images and patterns. It always contains a message representing stories, landscapes, and Dreamtime narratives. You could also call it an “instruction” for living life on this beautiful continent. The Dreamtime is more than just a religion or tradition to them passed on by families, which is shown in their art a lot. The dots are traditionally made with sticks, bones, or even fingers.
Enjoy a journey through the red lands and blue waters of Australia and discover all sorts of symbols and animals.
